- Boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking. Let it cool completely.
- Crisp. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6 to 8 minutes. Chop into bite-sized pieces.
- Mix. Whisk together mayonnaise, ranch dressing, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Toss. Combine cooled pasta, bacon, cherry tomatoes, and romaine in a large bowl. Pour the dressing over and toss until everything is coated. Serve chilled.
Notes
Rinse the pasta under cold water after cooking. It stops the cooking and cools it fast for a cold salad. Cook the bacon until really crispy. Chewy bacon gets lost in the salad. Add the lettuce right before serving so it stays crunchy.
