Method
- **Crust.** Crush 20 Oreos into fine crumbs. Mix with melted butter. Press into a 9 inch springform pan and freeze 30 minutes.
- **Color.** Stir blue food coloring into the softened ice cream until the color is even and vibrant.
- **Layer.** Spread half the blue ice cream over the crust. Sprinkle with half the crumbled chocolate chip cookies. Freeze 1 hour.
- **Repeat.** Spread remaining ice cream over the top, then crumble remaining chocolate chip cookies on top. Freeze 4 hours.
- **Whip.** Whip cold cream with powdered sugar and vanilla to stiff peaks. Spread over the frozen cake.
- **Crumble.** Crush remaining 10 Oreos into chunky pieces and sprinkle over the whipped cream.
- **Decorate.** Press candy eyes and mini cookies on top to make the cookie monster face. Freeze 30 minutes more, then slice and serve.
Notes
Soften ice cream 15 minutes at room temp until spreadable like soft serve. Use natural blue food gel for the brightest color without bitterness. Freeze each layer 1 hour before adding the next so the colors stay distinct.
