Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated croissant dough
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method

  1. Heat. Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high and brush lightly with melted butter.
  2. Prep. Unroll the croissant dough and separate into triangles. Roll each triangle from the wide end to the point, just like you would shape a croissant.
  3. Press. Place one or two rolled croissants onto the waffle iron and close the lid. Press for 3 to 4 minutes until deeply golden and crispy on both sides (don't open too early).
  4. Serve. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm and drizzle with maple syrup. Top with fresh berries or Nutella if you like.

Notes

Use full-size croissant dough, not the crescent roll minis, for the best flaky layers. Brush the waffle iron with butter before every batch for extra crunch and golden color. Don't open the waffle iron too early or the dough will stick and tear.
