Ingredients
Method
- Build sandwiches. Layer cheese on two bread slices. Add any optional add ins. Top with remaining bread.
- Butter the outside. Spread butter (or mayo) on the outside of each sandwich.
- Toast. Heat a skillet over medium low. Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side until deeply golden and the cheese is melted. Cover the pan for 30 seconds if needed to help the cheese melt.
- Add hot honey. Drizzle hot honey over the finished sandwiches (or open slightly and drizzle inside), then close and let it sit 30 seconds.
- Serve. Slice and serve warm. Add a pinch of flaky salt if you want extra contrast.
Notes
If the bread is browning too fast, lower the heat. The best grilled cheese takes a little patience.
Hot honey strength varies. Start small, then add more.
