Ingredients
  

  • 8 frozen waffles or homemade
  • 1/4 cup Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Method
 

  1. Toast. Toast the waffles until golden and crispy. Whether you use a toaster, oven, or waffle iron, get them nice and crunchy so they hold up as sandwich bread.
  2. Spread. While warm, spread one waffle with Nutella and the other with peanut butter. The warmth helps the spreads melt slightly and become extra gooey.
  3. Fill. Layer sliced strawberries and banana on the Nutella waffle. Drizzle with a little honey if you want extra sweetness.
  4. Close. Press the peanut butter waffle on top, spread-side down, to make a sandwich. Press gently so it sticks together without squishing out the filling.
  5. Slice. Cut diagonally for easy holding. The triangle shape fits perfectly in little hands and shows off the colorful filling inside.

Notes

Toast waffles until extra crispy so they do not get soggy from the fillings. Spread while warm so everything melts and sticks together better. Let kids choose their own filling combos. Set up a waffle sandwich bar with options.
